A Feng Shui Consultation
Why have a Feng Shui consultation?
The buildings in which we live and work and their surrounding landscapes influence and direct our lives in an almost unbelievably powerful way. Feng Shui is able to analyse the existing effect of our surroundings upon us, and recommendations made by an experienced Feng Shui practitioner can and do improve health, wealth, emotional well-being and relationships.
The location of your home or business premises and its internal design affects your personal life, business success and future. The ancient skills of Feng Shui have been developed over thousands of years to provide practical and valuable help to people in all areas of life.
Who uses Feng Shui?
Feng Shui has been widely practised and greatly respected in far eastern countries for thousands of years and, increasingly, it is being used in the rest of the world. It is used in many aspects of life, including premises location, setting and design. For example, many of the worlds major buildings are designed on Feng Shui principles.
It is also used to forecast aspects of business and trade. Feng Shui can be applied to counselling in the management of stress, life direction, careers and personal matters.
It is well known that some of the worlds largest business organisations use Feng Shui to great effect, and many of the worlds major business and political leaders consult astrological information based on their own horoscopes before taking important decisions.
What does a Feng Shui consultant do?
A Feng Shui consultant is also referred to as a Feng Shui Master, because he or she has mastered the ancient art of Feng Shui. The task of a Feng Shui consultant is first to ensure that beneficial Qi (chi), or energy, is encouraged to enter an area of landscape or a building and is able to steadily circulate through the building, thus bringing a beneficial effect to the lives of the occupants.
Emphasis may be placed on specific aspects of the occupants lives, whether the building is a home or a business, in order to improve their general well-being and assist them in leading a balanced, fulfilled life. Aspects often improved are those of finances, health, and both personal and business relationships.
A Feng Shui consultant requires a certain amount of knowledge before commencing a consultation, about the occupants and the buildings concerned. A consultant will construct a basic Chinese Horoscope of each occupant and will need to know the date, time and place of birth, as well as dates of construction and alterations to buildings where available. Even without all this detailed knowledge, a Feng Shui consultant will often be able to determine the problems experienced in homes or businesses from detailed observation of the building or buildings themselves and the surrounding landscape.
What happens during a Feng Shui consultation?
Initially it is helpful, although not always absolutely necessary, to provide details of date, time and place of birth of the occupants of a home or the owners of a business, so that some basic horoscopic information can be calculated and assessed prior to visiting the premises.
An observation of the surrounding landscape and/or buildings and the flow of Qi is undertaken and the effects assessed. Subsequently, the special compass measurements are taken with the Luo Pan and computation of the many and various calculations completed, which indicate to the trained consultant the nature of the energy within a building and the problems being created. This is then followed by an appraisal of the location and layout of each room.
It is helpful if the client is present during a consultation, but a written report detailing the problems and initial solutions is always provided.
In addition to Feng Shui consultations, more detailed horoscopic readings and advice can be provided separately.
How long does a consultation take?
The time taken for a consultation varies according to the size and complexity of the building but typically a three or four bedroomed house or small office takes four to five hours on site, plus the related horoscopic work in advance of the consultation and the subsequent report preparation.
When should a consultation take place?
Of course, the ideal situation is to be able to arrange for a Feng Shui consultation before a building is ever designed and constructed, and Tony Holdsworth has worked on a number of such projects alongside the architects and engineers involved. Nevertheless, most existing buildings can be improved, often substantially, without necessarily resorting to extensive or expensive structural alterations.
One notable observation, which is worth serious consideration, is that it is rare that a persons business or family life is improved by just moving premises, unless some Feng Shui-related changes have been made to the existing home or business prior to moving. It is also usually worthwhile selecting horoscopically supportive dates to sell properties, in order to maximise their value and encourage a speedy disposal.
Who carries out the consultation?
Consultations are principally undertaken by Tony Holdsworth, Principal of the School of Feng Shui, and some of the more experienced students who have qualified at the School of Feng Shui.
